Day 1:

Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga

At 8 AM we will pick you up from your riad or hotel, then drive south to Ifrane and Azrou through the Middle Atlas mountains. On the way we will stop at the cedar forests to see the Barbary Apes in their natural habitat. We continue travelling through the Tizi N Talghamt pass, along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock. On this road we can see views of the Middle-Atlas plateau and watch the scenery changing to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia. After lunch we’ll continue our journey through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani and arrive in Merzouga. After a glass of mint tea, we’ll leave our luggage in a safe room and ride camels to a nomad camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes,the highest sand dunes in North Africa. It takes about 1hr 30 min to reach the camp where we will spend the night in Berber tents. The tents are well equipped with mattresses, blankets, and cushions. After dinner we will gather around the fire under the stars.


    Day 2:

    Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

    We will wake up early to enjoy a magnificent sunrise on the dunes and then ride our camels back to the hotel. After freshening up and breakfast, our tour departs for Tinghir and the Todra Gorges. Depending on the season, we may be able to visit the Lake of Merzouga, famous for Flamingos and other seasonal migratory birds. The road takes us to Rissani, located on the ancient camel routes to Mali, where we can visit also the fossil museum. We’ll make our way to the Dades Valley, passing through picturesque villages and scenery, where we will have dinner and spend the night.


      Day 3:

      Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Marrakech

      After breakfast we’ll drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The route through the Dades Valley, the way of the thousand Kasbahs, provides numerous photo opportunities. We’ll visit the Rose Valley and the village of Skoura, then continue to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”. We’ll have lunch at the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. After touring this UNESCO World Heritage site, our journey will continue through the majestic Tizi nTichka pass, reaching an altitude of 2260m, over the High Atlas Mountains. We will stop to enjoy the impressive views and visit an argan oil cooperative. We will arrive in Marrakech late afternoon and take you to your hotel or riad.
